I am my Habits

I have been paying more attention to my habits lately.  For example, I notice that whenever I am with other people and there is food involved I tend to overeat.  Another is that I to like plop on the couch at the end of a work day especially when I have been sitting at my desk or driving all day.
On the other hand, when I exercise on a consistent basis I move more throughout the day and I eat better.
They say that it takes anywhere from 1 month to 8 months to form a habit.  Science says 66 days or about 2 months.  My goal is to hike for 120 days (with the weekends free for other types of exercise).
I am on day 9.
Question of the day:
If you could form one habit that you would do every day no matter what, what would it be?

One Response to “I am my Habits”

  1. The life changing habit for me is exercise. Working out in the morning for me sets the tone for the rest of the day. The energy increase, endorphin rush and sense of well being is priceless. The older I get the more challenging it is to embrace that painful rather unrewarding first few months, where soreness, exhaustion and distraction haven't been replaced with the happy sweaty grin of feeing your body respond to your efforts.

I have a concept 2 rower set up in my basement and it is my preferred form of torture/exercise. Being the geek that I am, I have it set up so I can use the rower to “virtually” workout with folks across the globe. When I get back into that habit, things will change for me… KB
